Beyond Basic Training
Basic training is just the
beginning at Establishment Dog Training. We offer four levels of advanced
training designed to challenge and delight both dogs and handlers.
Advanced Classes Include:
-
Agility:
Your dog will learn to run through tunnels, weave through poles, jump over
hurdles, climb a scaling board, walk a plank, jump through hoops and negotiate
many other obstacles.
-
Tricks:
Your dog will learn to find your lost keys, carry your groceries, "play
dead", take a bow, roll over, put away his toys, ring the door bell, push a
ball, crawl and many other tricks.
-
Advanced
Obedience:
Your dog will learn to reliably respond to your
commands off-leash, respond to silent hand signals, retrieve objects
over jumps, pick out objects with your scent, drop to the ground instantly on
your command, stay where you leave him (even when you are out of sight), carry
an object to another person and find a lost object or person.
What You Will
Learn In Our
Advanced Levels:

Advanced Level One
(Grammer School)
- Most work is off-lead
- Learn to jump three different types of obstacles (High jump, Bar jump and
Broad Jump) on command.
- Learn to jump over a series of jumps.
- Learn to drop to the ground instantly from a distance
or while moving and
stay in position until called.
- Off-lead heeling is polished and perfected.
- Sit/Stay and Down/Stay commands are performed with the owners out of sight
of the dogs. Of course, the distractions become more challenging too,
because cats, food and many other tempting offerings are used to entice your
dog.

Advanced Level Two
(High School)
- All work is off-lead
- An obstacle course including a Triple-Jump, Tunnel, Hoop-Jump and an 8
foot Scaling Board.
- Tricks: "Bang - You're Dead", Jumping through a Hula Hoop,
Carrying Groceries
- Signal Exercise: Sit, Stay, Down, Come, Finish at a distance with hand
signals only. - no voice commands.

Advanced Level Three
(College)
- All work off-lead
- More obstacles: Triple Bar Long Jump, Table, Collapsed Tunnel, and the
Weave Poles.
- More Tricks: Take a Bow, Crawl.
- Report: Carry objects from one person to another over long distances.
- Find My Keys: Your dog learns
to search for lost objects
- Control Exercise: Send your dog away from you in a straight tine, stop him
in a sit, call him, stop him in a stand, down him, back up to a sit, come
and finish. This one is challenging and fun!

Pi Squared
(Graduate School)
- All work off-lead
- PI Squared is a continuing course. Handlers can continue training for as
long as they wish in increasingly challenging 10-week sessions.
- New tricks: Put Away Toys, Ring the Doorbell, Close/Open the Door, Roll
over, Say Your Prayers, Get the Newspaper or Mail
- New obstacles: Including the See-Saw, Dog Walk, Weave
Pole Recall, Scent Hurdles and Flyball.
- Challenging New Skills: Including
Scent Discrimination, Directed Jumping, Directed Retrieving, Seek Back, Team and Brace
exercises.
- Exhibition Work: Perform in parades and school/community events.
- Pizza Orientations!!!
You may be amused by the name
we have given to the 5th level of training.
The fifth level has evolved
into a continuing education course for many students who simply
can't get enough dog training. In other words, you can continue
training with the same group of people for as long you desire.
There are always new things to
learn and there is always room for improvement on the things
already learned. Pi Squared Level members also participate in
parades and exhibitions for schools and community associations
to demonstrate their skills and show others the advantages and
joys of sharing their lives with a "Canine Good Citizen".
The Pi Squared Level has grown
into a group of people who consider themselves friends and are
always happy to accept new friends into "the club".
The Pi Squared Level
Orientation has now become known as the PIZZA "PI" SQUARED
ORIENTATION because the group has decided that they want to meet
at a local pizza parlor for the orientation class where everyone
has a great time. (Note that the Orientation is the first class
and is without dogs)
We hope your enthusiasm for
dog training will eventually take you to the Pi Squared Level.
You will enjoy the friendships you develop and the skills you
and your dog acquire. Feel free to contact us for more
Information.

Directed Jumping
|

- We offer four levels of Advanced Dog

- Our Advanced Levels focus on family
