Beyond Basic Training

Basic training is just the beginning at Establishment Dog Training.  We offer four levels of advanced training designed to challenge and delight both dogs and handlers.

Advanced Classes Include:

  • Agility:
Your dog will learn to run through tunnels, weave through poles, jump over hurdles, climb a scaling board, walk a plank, jump through hoops and negotiate many other obstacles.
  • Tricks:
Your dog will learn to find your lost keys, carry your groceries, "play dead", take a bow, roll over, put away his toys, ring the door bell, push a ball, crawl and many other tricks.
  • Advanced Obedience:
Your dog will learn to reliably respond to your commands off-leash, respond to silent hand signals, retrieve objects over jumps, pick out objects with your scent, drop to the ground instantly on your command, stay where you leave him (even when you are out of sight), carry an object to another person and find a lost object or person.

What You Will Learn In Our
Advanced Levels
:

Advanced Level One
Advanced Level Two
Advanced Level Three
Pi Squared Level

Advanced Level One
(Grammer School)

  • Most work is off-lead
  • Learn to jump three different types of obstacles (High jump, Bar jump and Broad Jump) on command.
  • Learn to jump over a series of jumps.
  • Learn to drop to the ground instantly from a distance or while moving and stay in position until called.
  • Off-lead heeling is polished and perfected.
  • Sit/Stay and Down/Stay commands are performed with the owners out of sight of the dogs. Of course, the distractions become more challenging too, because cats, food and many other tempting offerings are used to entice your dog.

  • Exhibition Work: Perform in parades and school/community events.
  • Pizza Orientations!!!

You may be amused by the name we have given to the 5th level of training.

The fifth level has evolved into a continuing education course for many students who simply can't get enough dog training. In other words, you can continue training with the same group of people for as long you desire.

There are always new things to learn and there is always room for improvement on the things already learned. Pi Squared Level members also participate in parades and exhibitions for schools and community associations to demonstrate their skills and show others the advantages and joys of sharing their lives with a "Canine Good Citizen".

The Pi Squared Level has grown into a group of people who consider themselves friends and are always happy to accept new friends into "the club".

The Pi Squared Level Orientation has now become known as the PIZZA "PI" SQUARED ORIENTATION because the group has decided that they want to meet at a local pizza parlor for the orientation class where everyone has a great time. (Note that the Orientation is the first class and is without dogs)

We hope your enthusiasm for dog training will eventually take you to the Pi Squared Level. You will enjoy the friendships you develop and the skills you and your dog acquire. Feel free to contact us for more Information.
