"Expertise"
Establishment Dog Training ranked among the best -
out of 612 dog training services studied in the Chicago area.
Establishment Dog Training was served with an extremely flattering and unexpected surprise recently. An organization named “EXPERTISE” did a study of 612 dog training services in Chicago and the surrounding area.
We had never heard of “Expertise”, we have never been contacted by anyone from "Expertise" and we have never spoken to anyone from "Expertise". Therefore, we had no idea that "Expertise" was doing a study of dog training services in the area. Although the top 13 were not ranked, but rather listed in alphabetical order, Establishment Dog Training students are certain that Establishment Dog Training would have been ranked number one. Of course, our students may be just a bit biased on the issue.
We want to congratulate the other 12 dog training services for achieving this unique and lofty status. Visit "Expertise" to see the "Expertise" report. Expertise Website Click Here

Establishment Dog Training is the creation of Cynthia Erickson who is the sole owner and operator. The name was born when, in high school, she asked her father for suggestions for naming a dog training business she dreamed of creating. He told her that, just like children, dogs have to learn how to "Join The Establishment".
Cynthia has been a dog trainer, veterinary surgical nurse and animal care specialist for nearly her entire life. She is a popular speaker on issues of animal care and dog training. People have told me that they have learned more about animal care and animal behavior in just one of her presentations than they had learned in their entire life.
For over 40 years, Establishment Dog Training has trained thousands of dogs (and their owners) with the ultimate goal of establishing a bond of mutual love, respect and a lifetime of joy in sharing a life with a well behaved dog. They train about 100 dogs a week while classes are in session and they provide In-Home Training services all year long.
The student population represents a broad cross-section of America including medical doctors and nurses, law enforcement, firemen, veterinarians, teachers, psychiatrists, and private and professional dog owners throughout Chicago and the suburban area.
In addition to being a "Classic Dog Training" trainer, Cynthia is a Certified American Kennel Club (AKC) Canine Good Citizen (CGC) Evaluator and Temperament Testing Evaluator (TE) and has trained many Service Dog and Therapy Dogs. These AKC Degrees certify that the dogs are mannerly, friendly and reliable on and off-leash.
The value of owning and caring for a dog is a priceless family experience which enhances the quality of life immeasurably. Owning a dog also teaches children the responsibility that attaches to loving and caring for a pet. Those who have never shared their life with a pet have missed a wonderful life experience.

Photo's of Mayor Lovero meeting with our young student and her service dog, "Canelo", both of whom are among Establishment Dog Training prize students. The young lady is an excellent example of the enormous benefits associated with "Service Dog" status. She has shared with us how "Canelo" has made her life at school so much more comfortable and meaningful and how the experience has helped her make lifelong friends. We are very happy for and proud of both of them.
It was wonderful that Mayor Lovero showed up to greet our students and bring special attention to the importance of this historic event.

A note about Service Dogs and the Law
Service Dogs Provide A Chance For Greater Independence Among Large Population Of Americans.
Service Dogs can greatly enhance the educational experience for children with special needs.
Children with specific needs which are resolved by the ownerrship and companionship of a service
animal are supported by the “American with Disabilities Act” (ADA) regulations, Section 504 of
the Rehabilitation Act of 1973. The “Individuals with Disabilities in Education Act” often supplemented
by various state and local laws. The act specifies that a service animal as a dog that is individually
trained to work or perform tasks for the benefit of an individual with a disability such as physical, sensory,
psychiatric, intellectual or other mental disability.
